Q & A?
Cancellation Policy: Should a cancellation or date change of a spa service be necessary, we kindly request your consideration of our minimum of 24-hour notice, and a 48-hour notice for any date changes or cancellations for multi-service Spa Packages. Your consideration and advance notice will allow you to avoid a cancellation fee.
When should I arrive? Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your treatment. Late arrivals are sometimes unavoidable, yet may shorten your scheduled time. New clients and patients please arrive 15-20 minutes before your appointment. Class schedules are subject to change, always check the website calendar for updates .
What if I am pregnant?
Your so blessed! Pregnant women should check with their doctor before attending any class. We offer gentle classes that would be appropriate for pregnant women. Do let your instructor know that you are pregnant, as their will be modifications to a pose offered if needed. Pre-natal massage is fantastic for relaxation and preparing your body for the birth. Do check with our package specials that would be great for the mom to be.
Is it customary to leave a gratuity?
Clients have the opportunity to extend a gratuity if they feel they received valuable service. We offer envelopes and cards for your comments and gratuity for your service provider. Gift Certificates and Spa Packages do not include gratuity.
What if I lost something on my visit? Call us as soon as you remember and we will do our best to re-track and find your belongings. We are not held responsible in any way for items lost or not found. Please bring your belongings into the treatment rooms during your service. We also have a shelving unit for yoga students to place their belongings during class.
Spa Specials of the Month: Can not be purchased as a gift certificate. Spa specials are meant to offer clients the opportunity to try new services or classes at a discounted rate. Only spa packages that we create monthly, for example, the "Mother's Day Out Package" or "Valentine's Getaway" or single/ multiple services can be purchased as a gift certificate . You can also purchase a gift certificate in the form of a dollar amount.
Reservations for 2 or more services? A deposit of $25 per service must be charged to reserve 2 or more appointments and is non-refundable if appointment is cancelled. We have lost the opportunity to fill the already reserved appointments.
Spa Parties: Require special planning and reservation of spa space. A private spa party will have the the added spa space rental that is to be paid in full prior to the spa party date. Reservation policy above applies to a any spa party reservation. We ask that you reserve your spa party at least one month in advance. We will schedule a free consulation with you to arrange your party in regards to services, entertainment and classes offered.
Gift Certificates: Expire 6 months after date of purchase. Gift certificates can not be combined with other specials or coupons. If you have a service you can certainly change it to another service on the menu, such as a facial, body wrap, massage or class package. If the cost is higher, you can pay the difference or if the exchange is lower, we can certainly adjust the gift certificate back in credit. After 6 months from the date of purchase we can
honor the gift certificate at 50% of the value, within 3 months after the expiration date.
Yoga Package Exchange
Unfortunately can not be exchanged for a service or credit at anytime. Yoga packages go on sale frequently and are given as a gift or promotional giveaway with other services. We can not keep track of the actual value of the yoga package therefore you must use the package within the days of use or pass it along to a friend who may enjoy the yoga classes. We can not issue lost cards.
Refunds: Services are not refundable as time and effort is put into every client. We do however will issue a refund with a receipt only on merchandise with a reasonable explanation and within 15 days of the purchase. If the merchandise has been damaged or tampered with in any way, we will not honor that refund.
Check Returns: All checks that are returned will be charged a return check fee of $35 plus the amount due on the check.
Spa Treatments
What do I do before my treatment ? We want you to enjoy the spa experience as soon as you enter. Being on time for your appointment is greatly appreciated so that you may receive your full service and our other clients are not inconvenienced. We encourage all of our clients, new or returning, to arrive 15 minutes early, change into a robe and slippers if desired, and relax with a cup of tea or lemon water to begin their spa experience.
Why do I need to fill out a health or skin intake? It is important that we serve you with professionalism and safety. Information is helpful in delivering an excellent treatment. Contraindications may be present that will help us determine whether we can perform the treatment? Please advise our professional staff of any allergies or sensitivities, or if you are pregnant or taking any medication. Pregnancy, blood pressure disorders and advanced diabetes may preclude some session.
What can I expect at my first massage appointment? A warm and comfortable greeting. The therapist will ask you to fill out a health intake form. A review and opportunity for questions and assessment of your health needs. Breathing techniques will be introduced. A focus on skilled treatment, while each muscle group is draped.
How often should receive a Therapeutic Massage? Studies have proven many health
benefits of massage therapy. We recommend a therapeutic massage once or twice monthly. Some clients may have challenged health conditions which may require bi-weekly or weekly treatments initially, then transitioning to maintenance sessions.
Why is drinking water important after a treatment? The human body is composed of 70% water, and plays a big role in the balanced functioning of digestion, nutrient, circulation, and excretion. During a massage, waste products are released into the blood stream. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day is a preventive health measure coupled with extra water intake after a treatment.
How often should I get a facial? First, your skin is the largest organ of the body. It needs attention daily. Your aesthetician will examine and make suggestions as to the best way to care for your skin. Monthly visits will help to encourage healthy skin through a complete cleanse, exfoliation and customized treatments. Massage will stimulate circulation and toxin removal coupled with the pure botanical and essential oils.
Will my skin react to products?i Please take the opportunity to share with your therapist or esthetician about any allergies you may have or contraindications prior to any treatment. Please be aware that most of our products are wild harvested and pure ingredients that may react with your skin if you are sensitive. We do not hold ourselves, nor can you hold us responsible for any reactions such as redness, hives, or itchiness. We will deliver the service with expertise and care. Be aware that the products that we use are professional and carry more natural ingredients than over the counter products.
What will a mud wrap do for me? Muds offer amazing properties, rich in minerals and nutrients for nourishing the tissues. Assistance in toxin removal through the pores and aids in the exfoliation process.
What are Dead Sea Salts? Direct from the Dead Sea in Israel are salts that will exfoliate the skin and soothe sore muscles, leaving the skin soft and clean.
What is a Sinus-Tea Treatment? A treatment that will open up the sinuses with simple acupressure points to the face, back, hands, and feet. Aromatherapy steam is used to open and drain the sinuses. Lymphatic flow is encouraged and pressure relief.
Do you have a shower?
Yes, if you are going out for the evening at the end of your spa day, we have a dressing and makeup area where you can get dressed.
Yoga
Is Yoga for everybody? Yoga is for Children to Seniors. All yoga poses (asanas) can be modified to the students needs. It is important to listen to your body and not go beyond your limit. Yoga teaches you to first become aware of your body, listen, make adjustments while connecting to your breathing. We offer gentle to intermediate classes and specialized classes for pregnancy and kids(summercamps).
What to Wear to yoga?
Feel free to dress comfortably, make sure you can bend comfortably at the waist. Also, bring a sweater as it may get cooler for you during relaxation pose. Yoga is practiced in bare feet. We do have bathrooms and changing rooms, if you should be coming before or after work.
Do I need to bring a mat?
We do encourage you bring a mat or purchase a mat at the studio. We do offer discounts for package purchases on the mats. Investing in a mat may encourage you to do a home practice and yoga anywhere you go.
Is it okay to bring a cell phone? in the event that you need to bring a phone to class, we ask that you have it turned off completely. A phone on vibrate is even a disruption. Thank you for your cooperation.
How early should I get to class?
Arrive ten minutes early to check in and set up your mat. It helps not to feel rushed into yoga practice. Allow yourself that time to get centered on your mat. Tardiness disrupts the instructor and the other students.
What if I forget my punch card pass?
You must pay the drop-in fee. Also, hang onto that card as we do not keep track of the purchases. If you lose the punch card, we can not recover any classes missed not used on it. Cards can only be used by the person it is issued to. No exceptions.
Should I eat something before practice?
Try to eat at least two hours before your practice to allow time for your food to digest. If needed, a light snack is okay.
Can I bring a drink into the studio?
Absolutely, hydrate your body as you excercise! Also, feel free to enjoy complimentary tea after your practice. We do provide waters for sale at the front desk.
What level class should I go to?
There are many different types of yoga classes offered at My Bodyoga Spa with a variety of creative and experienced instructors. Maybe start off with an easier class, like gentle to level 1. Try several instructors to experience the unique instruction each one offers.
What if I'm not flexible?
Well your in the right class! One of the many benefits of yoga is enhanced flexibility. We also teach you how to strengthen and keep that balance of flexibility.
What if I have an injury?
Talk to the instructor before class about any physical limitations you are having to determine whether modifications or props will be needed. Our instructors want you to experience a safe practice with or without limitations.
